The story of Iguana Tennis starts with the arrival of its founder and Head Coach, Alvaro Flores to Cancun in the year 2007. Originally from Argentina, he played at a national level as a Junior in his country, former NCAA College player in the United States, achieved a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration at the University of West Florida. Alvaro arrives to Cancun appointed as the Director of the American company Cliff Drysdale Tennis program at The Ritz Carlton.

By 2009 he moves to Playa del Carmen to start his own endeavor: Iguana Tennis. The mission is to provide the Best Tennis Experience in the Riviera Maya for local and international players alike. Throughout the years the Iguana Tennis Program was able to develop tremendously thanks to many rich experiences in collaboration with world-class resorts like Riu, Ocean, Barceló, among others.

Nowadays we are very excited with our new strategic alliance with Iberostar Hotels & Resorts with whom we are implementing the Iguana Tennis Program and professionalizing all their Tennis and Pickleball services in Mexico.

The trajectory and know-how of Iguana Tennis in the hospitality industry makes us the ideal company to bring life into facilities without use, elevate the quality, efficiency and profitability of current tennis programs in clubs, hotels and resorts throughout the Riviera Maya and Cancun.

Our Program

The Iguana Tennis Program has the know-how of years of coaching and directing internationally. We have great options for all ages and levels of play.

The success of our lessons lies on our approach of considering every player as unique, adapting tennis to them. In consequence, players get easily engaged, have fun and learn faster.

We begin our sessions by warming-up and activating the energy to prevent injuries. Afterwards we enhance the focus, intensity and effectiveness of the practice. Finally, we integrate everything we worked on at the end of the class.

The Iguana

The iguana in our brand is a tribute to this friendly and fascinating animal that lives in the Mexican Caribbean. They are always visiting the courts and surroundings, and we have developed a very special connection with them.
